Our members save lives. As a member of a local chapter, you will be part of an organization whose mission is to provide shelter to people in need during and after a disaster. Your contribution is not only financial—you will also improve the local strategies and process of accommodating victims with basic shelters in first response situations. Our network of chapters allows the organization to communicate about any logistic issues, build a library of educational seminars and host local events that help increase awareness of our vision—to spread knowledge, confidence, and preparedness on how to confront disaster relief situations before help arrives.
Volunteers are a vital to our operation. While our members help fund and grow local operations, it is the volunteers who carry out key roles with hands-on responsibilities. Our volunteers could apply to any of the listed positions within the organization, from the first response team, site clean-up, and unit assembly to the operation team, which manages the flow of materials and coordinates education and events. Volunteers have the opportunity to run for chapter positions if elected by the board for a fixed term.
